01/30/19 – Change in Scenery, Change in Style

Buddie’s recent release of their EP Change in Scenery has been an addition to Boston’s post-grunge scene which, unsurprisingly, was given to us in the middle of another freezing winter.

Described by the Boston Hassle as, “that familiar jaded feeling of a dissatisfied cold walk home,” said by Andy Dion. The EP definitely holds its roots in ’90’s grunge without the duplicative sound or message. The distorted riffs turn rhythmic and bass almost pop-based as the songs progress. The set of songs caught the attention of the scene, causing a stir of reviews, because of its honest positivity in the normal time for New England nihilism.
