At the beginning of this year, psychedelic band Wand announced that they would be releasing an album this month. I wrote a review of their first single when it came out and was hopeful that the change in sound would be the start of a new and exciting era for the band. They released three more singles before the whole album, and still made their way into our 12 Albums Coming Out This Year that we are Excited For list.

Popular music or “pop” for short has been through many evolutions since its conception in the 1950s. In recent years, we have seen pop music transform from the upbeat, bubblegum vibes of the early 2000s to a pop music that has been heavily influenced by rap music.
